Elizabeth ManleyAll three medallists in the memorable ladies’ competition at the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympic Games are Skate Canada International Champions: Katerina Witt (1983), Debi Thomas (1987) and, of course, Canada’s own Elizabeth Manley (1986). The two main contestants in the famous “Battle of the Brians” at those Calgary Games also claimed Skate Canada International gold, with American Brian Boitano prevailing at SCI in 1982 and Canada’s Brian Orser managing the feat in 1983, 1984 and 1987.

Alberta’s Kaetlyn Osmond was the last Canadian to claim ladies gold at SCI, pulling off the feat in 2012 in Windsor, Ont.
