Skate Canada Coaches win 2015 Petro-Canada Coaching Excellence Awards
OTTAWA, ON: Four Skate Canada coaches were honoured once again with the 2015 Petro-Canada Coaching Excellence Award. The awards were presented on Friday, November 13th by the Coaching Association of Canada at the annual Petro-Canada Sport Leadership Awards Gala, which took place in Winnipeg, Man.
The Petro-Canada Coaching Excellence Awards recognizes coaches whose Canadian athletes or teams win gold, silver, or bronze medals while competing in an Open World Championship, the Olympic Games, the Special Olympics World Games, or the Paralympic Games.
“Once again we are proud that Skate Canada coaches delivered another season of excellent achievements in order to receive these prestigious awards. The Coaching Association of Canada along with Petro-Canada do an outstanding job of recognizing the essential efforts of coaches in Canada,” said Dan Thompson, Skate Canada CEO. “Skate Canada has over 5,000 certified coaches across Canada and we know how important the role of a coach is to the development of the skaters and the sport. Thank you and congratulations to Richard, Bruno, Anne and Shelley for receiving this respected award.”
